The dynamic world FISHING-101 was added in the 1.6.10 patch, aimed towards teaching players 10 tips related to fishing and otherwise aimed to clear up some confusion surrounding fishing. The world is linked using a portal next to the Old Fisherman NPC in the Pixel Station. The world resembles the default world generation with some added water for beginner fishers, as well as some locations to put numbered signs called "fishing tips".
Fishing Tips
Here is a list of all the fishing tips:
- TIP No. 1: You need a fishing rod and some lures to start fishing.
- TIP No. 2: Equip your fishing rod and use a lure on top or next to water to start catching some fish.
- TIP No. 3: Different lures attract different fish species.
- TIP No. 4: Different fish species live in different depths, so choose your spot carefully!
- TIP No. 5: Bigger fish might need a more sturdy fishing rod to catch them.
- TIP No. 7: If you're lucky, you might end up catching rare ingredients for rod upgrades and other gear!
- TIP No. 8: Make sure you upgrade your fishing rod to make fishing a lot easier!
- TIP No. 9: The amount of "connected" water determines the amount of fish that dwell there.
- TIP No. 10: Boost your fishing by equipping various fishing gear!
- Pro TIP: Different world backgrounds have an effect on how different lures work in that world.
Trivia
- For some unknown reason, there is no sign with a fishing tip numbered "6".
- The world was never mentioned in any patch notes for the update, the only indication was the portal in Pixel Station.
- As of patch 1.6.3, the world has translating signs and the Panorama Camera is restricted.
